LPGA Tour players are eligible for a variety awards. Players are also rewarded for their performance, including Player of the Year. Each player who finishes in the top 10 places earns a certain amount of points. Points at major championships or the Tour Championship are doubled. For example, 30 point for first place equals twelve points at second place. A third-place player gets a point. A fourth-place player gets four points. If a player finishes eighth, she gets three points. In the same way, eighth-place players receive two points. Vare Trophy, which is named after the player with lowest season scoring average, is another award.

Louise Suggs is the founder

Louise Suggs, who was one of thirteen founder members of Ladies Professional Golf Association, has died at the young age of 91. She was a pioneer of women's sport and was instrumental to the creation in 1950 of the LPGA Tour. She is in the LPGA Hall of Fame. Suggs has won at minimum one LPGA tournament in thirteen years straight and has 61 LPGA Championships to her credit.

Louise Suggs was the first Chinese player on the LPGA Tour

Louise Suggs is a Georgian native who won the U.S. Women's Open 1949 by 14 strokes. This was the biggest margin of victory in the event's storied history. As a teenager, she won the U.S. Women's Amateur and the British Women's Open, and was nicknamed "the Great Distance Girl" by Bob Hope, a comedian who later became a prominent member of the LPGA.

Annika Sorenstam entered the 2008 LPGA season much earlier than many. To mark her 70th career victory, she won the SBS Open Hawaii in Hawaii and also the Michelob ULTRA Open. She also won the Stanford Pro-Am, the Michelob ULTRA Open and passed the $22 million mark in earnings. Despite her many accomplishments, she remains warm and approachable despite all the hard work she has put in.

The LPGA is affiliated with Women's Senior Golf Tour.

Jane Blalock's JBC Marketing organizes The Women's Senior Golf Tour. This is a tournament series for seniors. Although the LPGA does not own the tour, it is affiliated with them and has hosted a season-ending championship since 2006. The LPGA has also played events on the Legends Tour. LPGA has events for younger women, in addition to its Legends Tour.

Dow is an official sustainability resource of LPGA

LPGA Tour partnered with Dow to establish a digital hub, 'Celebrating The Green'. This hub will promote environmental responsibility and combat climate change. The hub includes information about LPGA initiatives and highlights Dow's commitment for sustainable operations. In partnership with Dow, the LPGA will also offer the OnCourse(r) sustainability software program for its tournaments.
