The United States will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the group stage, but a win over Chile could prove vital for their Olympic hopes. Disputes between FIFA & USWNT
Although the dispute between U.S. Soccer and FIFA has been simmering for some time, it is now coming to an end. On International Women's Day in April, four months prior to the Women's World Cup began, a lawsuit was filed against U.S. soccer stars claiming gender discrimination. Players claim they are paid less than their male counterparts and that they do not have equal working conditions.
Players on the team with 200 caps or more
Becky Sauerbrunn already has 200 caps. This makes her the 12th player ever to do this in USWNT History. She will also become the fourth defender to reach this mark. This feat comes just months after the Dutch captain achieved this milestone. It will also surpass the achievement of General Manager Kate Markgraf. Two years ago, a certain player commanded the U.S. National Team for the first time since she celebrated her 100th cap.
Endler's denial regarding Press
Christen press teed Lindsey Horan in the U.S. goal. Endler, however, came out of her goal to deny her tap-in. Press's strike would have given Chile a lead, but Endler made an incredible save. She is gifted with a unique instinct and can make stunning saves. It was the game's highlight, with the save in the final 68 minutes.
