Now that the WNBA basketball season is underway, with more than a quarter of the games already off the calendar, it's time to examine the WNBA stats. While standings don't really measure individual player performance, we can make predictions based on history. You may be surprised at some numbers. These are the top WNBA statistics you can expect.

Leslie played in the WNBA

Leslie McLaughlin was one of the first women in the WNBA to invest in a team. She is now a successful author and speaker. She was a pioneer in innovation, consistency, perfection and perseverance. Leslie has been an inspiration to women in the sport of basketball and to people in general. In addition to playing basketball, Leslie has worked as a model and has appeared in numerous commercials.

Sabrina Ionescu became first WNBA player to record 30-point triple-double

Last season, Ionescu became the first player in WNBA history to score 30 points and record a triple-double. She also became the first WNBA player to record double-doubles in three different seasons. During the offseason, she rebuilt her strength and speed to prepare for the 2022 season. After undergoing an ankle injection, she felt ready to start training camp. She wasn't an rookie and was still getting to know her teammates.

Liberty's leader in assists per match is Kelsey Plum

Following an incredible season last year Kelsey Plum is set to lead the Liberty's assists per-game this season. The 5-foot-8, 5-foot-8 center has averaged 5.4 assists per week to lead the team. Her impressive stats are not surprising as she leads with 19.6 points per games. Alyssa, Thomas and she are tied for the league lead with assists. Plum, who made her debut in the WNBA All-Star match, was awarded MVP. She also set a record with 12 threes.


Parker's injury history

In his rookie season, the Miami Dolphins drafted wide receiver DeVante Parker with the 14th overall pick. After injuring his right foot while practicing, he was unable to play for the Dolphins the first half. Parker underwent surgery to repair the foot and missed seven games. His injury history was a significant problem, especially when he started his NFL career. Parker pulled the scar tissue from his left foot after surgery and missed three preseason matches, one of which was when he was hurt.

Standings for the WNBA

It is never too soon to begin looking at the WNBA standings. Six teams will be participating in the playoffs, which begin Aug. 17. The Chicago Sky Aces and Las Vegas Aces already hold the first two seedings. The Sun, Mystics, Dream and Dream remain in the running to win the fourth or fifth seeds. There are also a few other teams in the mix such as the New York Liberty and Dallas Wings.

Ionescu's triple-double

Triple-double by Ionescu was a landmark for the WNBA. In the 116 to 98 victory over Las Vegas Aces, she scored 31 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and gave out 10 assists. While her triple-double is impressive on its own, the fact that she didn't turn the ball over makes it even more incredible. Ionescu is also the first player to record a WNBA-record triple-double. This is a huge accomplishment for the league.
