Among them are Women's PGA Championship (Women's British Open), Women's Australian Open (Women's PGA Championship) and Women's PGA Championship (Women's PGA Championship). Today, the Women's PGA Championship is the second-oldest of the five majors.

Carlton Woods hosts lpga's new major

The Chevron Champion, the LPGA’s new major championship, is a great fit at Carlton Woods. The tournament will be hosted by The Club at Carlton Woods Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. The tournament is part a five-year agreement. It will also be televised live at NBC Sports.

It was opened for play in 2001. It's well-known for its rolling greens, which are protected by bunkers. In 2014, it hosted the U.S. Will Zalatoris won the Junior Amateur. In addition, it has also hosted the qualifying rounds for the U.S. Open and LPGA Tour events. It also hosted the Mission Hills final edition in Rancho Miro California where Jennifer Kupcho won the title.

Carlton Woods boasts a strong junior program

Carlton Woods is renowned for its strong junior golf program. The HP Boys Championship hosted Tiger Woods as well as David Duval and Rickie Fowler. This invitation-only tournament also raises money to support junior golfers. Over $44,000 has been donated by HP Boys Championship to local schools, charities, as well as an AJGA ACE grant. Last year, the AJGA presented awards for best media coverage and charitable giving to the event.

Louise Suggs was the founder of the LPGA

Louise Suggs is the founder of the LPGA. It's a tour for female golfers that competes at major championships. Suggs was assisted by her two partners in establishing the organization and organizing tournaments. They also helped to promote teaching clinics.


In the early 1960s, Suggs played a 72-hole exhibition tournament in West Palm Beach, Florida. Suggs was competing against fellow LPGA- and PGA pros in this tournament.

Women's PGA Championship is second-oldest of five lpga majors

The Women's PGA Championship features the best female golfers in the world. The tournament dates back to 1955 and is the second-oldest of the five majors. It is not recognised by the Ladies European Tour as a Major and is open worldwide.

The Women's PGA Championship (one of five LPGA majors) is often played at courses that hosted men's majors. Since 1955, the event has not been missed, with 11 of its years played at Wilmington’s DuPont Club. McDonald's became the event's title sponsor in 1994.

Gary Player: A four-time major champion, Gary Player won his first major, the Open Championship, at the age of 26. He ended his career with nine major championships. This was the sixth consecutive grand slam. Player won four consecutive PGA Championships including the U.S. Open in 1995. He also finished in top five at the Masters as well as the U.S Open. In 1978, he won the Masters.
